Tracy L. Parker, 37, was charged with second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of armed criminal action for his role in the death of 36-year-old DeAnthony Guthrie.
Parker allegedly shot Guthrie multiple times in the parking lot of a convenience store at East 35th Street and Cleveland Avenue in the Palestine East neighborhood of Kansas City. Kansas City police officers responded to the shooting around 5:30 p.m. Oct. 13, according to KCPD spokesperson Sgt. Phil DiMartino.

Upon exiting, Guthrie can be seen speaking with, and handing something to, the driver of the black Chevrolet Blazer carrying Parker, court documents read.
As Guthrie walked back to his car, Parker allegedly stepped out of the passenger seat of the Blazer and pointed a handgun at Guthrie, according to court documents.
