NOAH's Folding Stool Is Made out of Reclaimed Wooden Coat Hangers

NOAH has created a folding stool constructed out of upcycled materials. Championing the concept of using discarded resources to create thoughtful designs, the brand tapped Japanese craftsmen to build the stool.

Old wooden coat hangers were used to form the legs of the stool and throughout the wood are layers of North American white ash, black walnut, and Japanese zelkova. The wood was then treated with a clear coating for a laminated effect and constructed using brass hardware.

The seat of the stool is made out of nume leather and embossed with the NOAH brand logo.

"Over the years, I've designed many furniture pieces, but the one essential and most versatile piece has always been a stool. The folding stool, in particular, is a quintessential classic -- timeless and incredibly practical for all kinds of spaces," NOAH co-founder Estelle Bailey-Babenzien says.

"This stool strikes a balance between luxurious materials -- wood, brass, and leather -- and functionality. Good, thoughtful design adds layers of pleasure to our daily interactions, making each moment with these objects more enjoyable."
